Rattamatatt is a small, handmade, slow fashion business.

We are here to bring colour, happiness and beautiful classic styles into your wardrobe that are made with care and thoughtfulness.

Styles are released roughly monthly and are limited release. I love that I make everything myself, but it means that releases work around fabric printing timelines and my family- Lifestyle and uniqueness is a priority for these beautiful handmade pieces.

Meet the Designer behind All the Banksias print

Marni Stuart is an Australian surface pattern designer, design lecturer, PhD Candidate and mother of two.

Marni creates surface patterns for fabrics that celebrate the native habitats of the Sunshine Coast through native Australian florals. Marni uses drawing and other mark-making techniques to create my designs. Always starting with the hand, the work is textured and organic. Her works are inspired by walks through the bushland near my home and celebrating the beautiful wildflowers found there. Marni's practice is deeply embedded in experimentation and creativity.

Through her academic research, she investigates the role that depicting native plants plays in environmental conservation. Her publications focus on observation, walking as method and botanicals in design.

Slow Fashion

Based on the South Coast of NSW, Kathryn uses the local environment as inspiration for each piece, working with local suppliers to source fabric that not only reminds her of her home but represents the fun, vibrant personality that is Rattamatatt.

Thoughtfully Made

At the heart of it, Rattamatatt is creating slow fashion, made from high quality fabrics that will stand the test of time, which can be seen in the quality and detail of each individually handcrafted piece. Wearing Rattamatatt brings joy, happiness and empowers women to feel confident in themselves.

Working With Talented Artists

Focusing on unique and whimsical prints, Kathryn collaborates with print designers to create designs that bring joy and happiness to the wearer time after time. Featured here is Marni Stuart in her own Queensland Wax Flower design.
